$75.00
This is a single cardboard disk that was part of a set of grammar game instructional pieces originally sold together in a wooden cylinder. It has been placed in a 3"x3" brass-edged frame. In lot 444 of the Doyle Sondheim Collection auction on June 14, 2024, a cylinder with approximately 20 pieces sold for over $2500 total. This is one of four disks we are offering individually showing a hand-tinted illustration and the relevant grammatical rule on the other side. The disks convey a sense of whimsy which would have made learning grammar more fun and likely appealed to Stephen's sense of humor with wordplay. The disks have been thinned to fit in the frame. Each disks shows signs of wear. The frames are handmade and have varying precision. From lot 121 in the Doyle Stephen Sondheim Collection auction on November 14, 2024.
