Three-piece brass and cast iron Imperial weight set from Sondheim estate

The set consists of 4, 2 and 1 pound weights. On the bottom of each a hole reveals a cast iron core with an impressed crown and the numbers 401 and 72. Multitudes of dents and scratches show years of use. Sondheim had a great affection for the UK and probably bought this set on one of his many trips to the British Isles. The weights have a burnished golden glow that the photographs do not quite capture. They would be a visual knockout in a sunlit spot on a table or desk. The set is approximately 4.5" across and 2.5" tall.
